| What is it, that defines any of us?
|
| |
| Everything we do has one simple purpose... no matter what anyone else my think or feel... you see, no one can know what it is, but us, no one can read my mind... or yours... and no matter how anyone else would see our actions, they can never truly know the "why."
In all the history of humanity the search for the true roots of good and evil come down to one basic concept... one duality... does it bring pleasure, or does it bring pain. It is the most basic part of us, that search for pleasure. From the moment of birth... or even before... what brings pleasure will always be sought, what brings pain will be avoided.
And yet there are those who see this duality from the other perspective too...
Even one who chooses death is enmeshed in the dual nature... with the end being sought... to either find pleasure, or ease the pain...

| Be nice. Be friendly. Be courteous
words...
but like everyone what is spoken is usually pretty far from the truth...
our lies take many forms, but in the end they are still lies....

When we're incomplete, we're always searching for somebody to complete us. When, after a few years or a few months of a relationship, we find that we're still unfulfilled, we blame our partners and take up with somebody more promising. This can go on and on--series polygamy--until we admit that while a partner can add sweet dimensions to our lives, we, each of us, are responsible for our own fulfillment. Nobody else can provide it for us, and to believe otherwise is to delude ourselves dangerously and to program for eventual failure every relationship we enter. |
